The inaugural Long Island Lacrosse Championship brings together some of the best competition in the country into an intimate, weekday setting at LIU-Post. Teams will play five games - three on the first day of play and two on the second - in a championship format. The older age groups will play in front of college coaches from all levels and showcase their skills in one of the nation's toughest tournaments to win.
The Long Island lacrosse Championship is a two day HS only recruiting event taking place on Monday July 8th and Tuesday July 9th at LIU Post. Each region will be represented by only 10 competitive High School teams. Each rival region will compete against one another for regional supremacy. Each team will play a total of five games against teams from the opposing regions(will not play any team from your region). The regions that will be represented are Suffolk County, Nassau County, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Westchester. A points system will be in place for wins, losses, and ties. Total points for each region will be kept throughout, with the region posting the highest cumulative point total at the end being presented a trophy as the 2019 Long Island Lacrosse Champions. Essentially, the 10 teams from your area will be collectively representing your region against the opposing regions. Teams will be matched up as evenly as possible to ensure overall competitive games against the opposing regions. Coach Eric Wolf of LIU Post believes this event will be very well attended by college coaches. Players will register individually with a per player fee. Each team with a minimum of 20 players registered will receive a stipend. This will be a fun and competitive event with the teams playing together for regional pride.
