BOYS
2029 Team 91 Tristate (NY)
The boys from Westchester are coming off a hot NYLA performance last weekend. Led by attackman Landon Saracco and goalie Reid Ricasio, this 91 Tristate team is looking to take home a Westchester War Games trophy. Offensively they utilize good ball movement to open up cutters, while on defense they anchor down and wait for the offense to make mistakes. This group is well coached by Somers Varsity Head Coach Jordan Hirsch. This well coach group is one to keep an eye on this weekend in the Red bracket.
2030 Cavalry (CT)
This rising Calvary team is one to note heading into the War Games. A young, energetic group centered on a motion-style offense that encourages players to produce creative looks at the net. Their offense thrives on motion and creating space for time-and-room shots, while their defense centers on chaos and pressure. With many two-way players, they utilize their full roster and have multipurpose players throughout the field. On offense expect players like Ben Bilek, Declan O’Connor, Cole Clancy and Gavin Leonard to be the main drivers for scoring. On defense, keep an eye out for lockdown SSDM Andrew Basso and defensemen like Bryce Lowe and Noah Champagne to hold down the fort.
2030 Team 91 Tristate (NY)
Another Westchester team coming off of a strong performance in the first week of summer. This Team 91 Tristate team loves to push transition and create in space. This team has an ability to play, make it take the ball and can get out to early leads. Players like defensemen Max Lee help limit offensive opportunities, while attackman Colin Evans commands the offense and generates a healthy amount of opportunities for his teammates. Another well coached team as Mamaroneck coaches like Charlie Rice and Fox Lane man the sidelines.
2032 Cavalry (CT)
Most recently this Cavalry team competed in the Alliance Lacrosse League, so these boys are ready for a competitive weekend in Westchester. Their offense is built on high IQ plays that are centered around aggressive dodging. These boys like to get downhill and draw slides to create most of their opportunities. While their offense is fast paced, their defense likes to slow the opponents down and looks to play fundamental, organized 6 on 6 ball. This group is as organized as they come, constantly communicating with each other. Watch out for offensive players like attackmen Thomas Mariano and Hunter Hulme, and midfielders like Louis Garguilo, Dermot Foley and Brady Merrifield. On defense you can expect players like Tommy King, Colin Taylor, and Ryan Libby to make an impact.
GIRLS
2032 Yellow Jackets North (NY)
This Yellow Jackets North team plays a disciplined, locked-down man-to-man defense that emphasizes fundamentals, communication, and accountability. Defensively, they trust their system and work together to make offenses earn every opportunity. On the offensive end, they have a team-first mentality and are consistently looking for the extra pass to create the best scoring chance rather than forcing individual plays. This group competes with great effort and resilience, never backing down from a challenge regardless of the score. Players like Paige O’Donnell, Casey Kozak and Edie Kilpatrick are bound to make an impact for this YJN team this weekend.
2030 Team 91 Tristate (NY)
The Team 91 Tri-State 2030 set the tone last weekend coming out and capturing a championship at the Hudson Valley Summer Classic. Led by coaches Brian Dooley, Ashley Morales, and Nick Devito, this talented group combines sticks skill and an upbeat play style that elevates their game. This culture first team is always quick to jump out from the first whistle, don’t be surprised if they get out to early leads in pool play. This dedicated group is looking to capitalize on their momentum from last weekend and repeat as champions.
2033 Yellow Jackets North (NY)
This team has competed in two tournaments against Top 30-level competition and has shown that they can match the intensity and pace of high-level opponents. Their style of play is aggressive, physical, and fast, with players consistently applying pressure on both ends of the field. They look to create turnovers through strong defensive play and quickly capitalize in transition, often pushing the ball upfield before defenses can get organized. Expect a high-energy group that competes hard from the opening draw to the final whistle. Notable players like Ryan Murphy, Lily Griffin and Reese Hal will play a role in their success at the Westchester War Games.
2032 Team 91 Tristate (NY)
The Team 91 Tristate 2032s are quickly becoming one of the premier young teams in the area, highlighted by their recent championship victory at the Hudson Valley Summer Classic last weekend. Under the leadership of Katelin Billups, Jeff Barr, Mike Bocklet, and Molly Gallagher, the Thunderbirds compete with confidence, discipline, and a true team-first mentality. This team likes to move the ball and sink in on defense. Be wary of this team as they look to go for back to back championships at the Westchester War Games.
